If your child can sing, she may just have what it takes to join the Concordia Youth Chorale. Of course, you'll never know unless you try at one of our chorus auditions!
Once your child has joined the group, she’ll receive vocal training, music theory instruction, and have the chance to tour the world. Our youth chorale is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Join us!
Like our motto “Singing Great Music in Great Places,” we specialize in providing unusual performance opportunities for our singers.
Concordia Youth Chorale is a choral organization in Central New Jersey for girls in kindergarten through college. Our auditioned choruses sing an ambitious schedule of concerts in Monmouth County, New Jersey and tour frequently.
We offer a Junior Chorale for girls, kindergarten through fifth grade, and a Youth Chorale for girls, sixth grade through undergraduate school. There is also a Summer Camp for teenage boys and girls interested in studying voice at college.
In our 2013-2014 season we visited the Gettysburg Battlefield and sang a program of Civil War songs at one of the New Jersey monuments. We then went on to the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg and sang a full program there. In June 2014 we returned for our 4th visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
We opened our 2014-2015 season with a concert at St. Paul’s Chapel at Ground Zero in NYC. After a concert devoted entirely to the works of Minnesota composer Daniel Kallman, we returned to Carnegie Hall for the 5th time to sing a program under the direction of famed youth chorus conductor and composer, Francisco Nunēz. Two weeks later we headed to Ireland for our 6th European tour!
Our 2015-2016 season opened with a performance of Anthony Hedges’ magnificent Psalm 104 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. The balance of the season includes performances of Mechem’s Seven Joys of Christmas, Jenkins’ Requiem, Chilcott’s Jazz Songs of Innocence and a medley of contemporary favorites – a wonderful season of the best music for upper voices.
